CARES (Clinic for Assessment & Responsive Educational Support) serves the community and future special education teachers. Our goals include the following:
- To help children, adolescents, adults and their families understand their child’s learning profile of strengths and needs to provide more targeted support and services, academic and behavioral interventions, at home, school or in the community.
- To provide applied behavior analysis programming to support people with disabilities in social, communication, behavioral, vocational and functional domains.
- To assist school- and community-based personnel in developing and implementing effective academic, behavioral and social-emotional strategies through remote and in-person behavioral coaching or professional training.
- To prepare future special education teachers using assessment and intervention procedures to tutor and support students and individuals with diverse needs.
